Early Years & Inspirations

Shanti Swaroop’s musical journey began at age 3-4 under his first Guru, a veena player and vocalist. Influenced by her guidance, he was exposed to music early on. MS Subbulakshmi’s recordings deeply shaped his musical foundation, and as he grew, he expanded his knowledge to include the works of Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer and Ravi Shankar’s exploration of Carnatic music, further enriching his learning.

Musical Lineage - Gurus & Training

Shanti Swaroop’s musical foundations were laid in childhood under revered Carnatic gurus Sri Komanduri Seshadri Garu, Smt. Sowmya Srinivasan (Vocal), and Sri Ananta Krishna Sharma (Violin).

Over the years, he expanded his musical horizon through extensive training across notable Hindustani gharanas, including Agra, Gwalior, Patiala, and Kirana, studying under eminent gurus such as Pt. Sanjeev Chimmalgi, Pt. Ajay Thosar, Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty, and violinist Shri Manas Kumar.

Currently, his advanced training continues within the Banaras Gharana, guided vocally by Pt. Prabhakar Kashyap Ji, drawing deep inspiration from maestros Padmabhushan Pt. Rajan & Pt. Sajan Mishra. On violin, he trains under legendary maestro Padmabhushan Dr. N. Rajam Ji, while exploring the therapeutic dimensions of music under renowned music therapist and musicologist Acharya Ratna Rajam Shanker. He has completed his M.A in Musicology and trained under eminent Gurus such as Prof. Anil Behari Deohar and Prof. Aarti Rao

In 2002, he won top honors at the North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival, representing Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra, in both vocal and violin categories.
