Vidwan Anirudh Aithal is a young and dynamic Hindustani classical vocalist known for his soulful renditions and rigorous training. He began learning music early, training under Smt. Geetha Garud Prithviraj for eight years and later continuing under Dr. Ashok Huggannavar. Anirudh’s dedication and talent have earned him recognition as an award-winning artist and a graded performer with All India Radio. His melodious voice and command over ragas have made him a rising star in classical music circles.

Key Achievements:

Received national scholarships from CCRT and Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy.

Graded as an Artist (All India Radio).

Regular performer at classical music festivals, acclaimed for his emotive khayal presentations and innovative alaap.

Vidwan Anirudh Aithal has conducted an intimate morning baithak at the Gurukulam, inspiring students and rasikas alike with his artistry.

Vidwan Ramana Balachandran

Vidwan Ramana Balachandran is a Carnatic veena virtuoso celebrated for his prodigious talent and innovative style. Starting veena at a young age, he earned a direct “A” grade from All India Radio at just 16—a rare distinction. The Madras Music Academy waived its age requirements to feature him in their annual concert series as a teenager. Ramana’s performances combine technical mastery with emotional expression, making him one of the most sought-after instrumentalists of his generation.

All India Radio A-Grade Artist since age 16.

Youngest artist featured at Madras Music Academy’s main concert series.

Developed a unique bani blending tradition with innovation.

Winner of competitions like Kalavanta 2016.

Vidushi Ranjani Shivkumar

Vidushi Ranjani Shivkumar is an inspiring Carnatic vocalist who transitioned from engineering to music full-time. Trained since age six under esteemed gurus Smt. Seetha Narayanan and Sri N.S. Srinivasan, she blends technical finesse with emotive depth. Ranjani holds a Master’s in Music, passionately mentoring young talents alongside her performances.

Key Achievements:

Recipient of the Government of India’s CCRT Junior and Senior scholarships.

Winner of multiple All India Radio competitions and awarded as “Upcoming Vocalist.”

Performed at Madras Music Academy and international festivals, including the Cleveland Tyagaraja Festival.

B-High graded artist of All India Radio, Chennai.

Vidushi Ranjani Shivkumar enriched the Gurukulam with a unique Carnatic baithak performance co-organized by the Urban Baithak team.

Vidushi Kalapini Komkali

Vidushi Kalapini Komkali is a renowned Hindustani vocalist carrying forward the legacy of her father, Pandit Kumar Gandharva. Born and trained in Dewas, she learned from her parents, developing her distinguished style in khayal, thumri, dadra, and bhajans. Kalapini uniquely incorporates Malwa folk melodies into classical forms.

Key Achievements:

Honored with Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2023).

Recipient of Kumar Gandharva Award (Pujari Pratishthan, Pune).

Performed extensively across India and abroad; active trustee of Kumar Gandharva Sangeet Academy.

Vidushi Manjusha Patil

Vidushi Manjusha Kulkarni-Patil is a leading Hindustani vocalist of the Gwalior gharana. Born into a musical family in Sangli, Maharashtra, she trained rigorously under Sangeetacharya Pt. D.V. Kanebuwa and Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar, mastering khayal and semi-classical forms.

Key Achievements:

All India Radio “A” grade artist (classical and semi-classical).

Regular performer at Sawai Gandharva, Tansen Samaroh, and Dover Lane festivals.

Topper in her Master’s in Music; Sangeet Visharad degree holder.

Rajasthani Manganiars

The Rajasthani Manganiars are legendary folk musicians from the Thar Desert, preserving a vibrant centuries-old musical heritage. Their music celebrates devotion, nature, and folklore, accompanied by unique instruments like kamaicha and khartal.

Key Achievements:

Renowned custodians of rare folk ragas from Rajasthan.

International performances including “The Manganiyar Seduction.”

Produced acclaimed artists like Sakar Khan (Padma Shri), Mame Khan, and Lakha Khan.

Celebrated globally for preserving intangible cultural heritage.

Vidwan Mehar Paralikar

Vidwan Mehar Paralikar is a gifted Hindustani vocalist, trained under Guru Yashashree Kadlaskar, Pt. Padmakar Thatte, and Padma Shri Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. Known for his mellifluous voice, he excels in classical and semi-classical genres.

Key Achievements:

Government of India National Music Scholarship recipient.

Finalist in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa (Marathi, 2009); performed at Swarmangesh and ITC SRA festivals.

Acharya Ratna Vidushi Rajam Shanker (Music Therapist)

Acharya Ratna Vidushi Rajam Shanker is a pioneering Carnatic music therapist, blending science and classical music for over four decades. Author of The Healing Power of Indian Ragas, she uses ragas therapeutically in clinical and educational settings.

Among India’s first certified classical music therapists.
